Default Changed my mind on something

GPS. I always boasted about finding my own way or enjoying using a map. But after last night, I am going to start looking for one. About 2 hours from home last night, my wife says she doesn't want to do the freeway. It's late, dark, but oh what a gorgeous night. So, of course, what do I care? More ride time through the countryside. I told her there was one incy bitsy problem..... I had no clue how to get home, and there were way too many turns I'd have to make with country roads. Plus, I had no map and I can't read small print for crap with poor light anyways. She then pulls her I-pad from her designated saddlebag, and begins to guide me all the way home. Until we were about 20 miles from home, I had absolutely no idea of where we were. But man, it changed my mind about dropping in to the 21st century. I thinks me is gonna get one of those little contraptions. I know it won't be quite as good as my wife's voice and a tap on the shoulder to slow down for a turn. But I was hoping for some suggestions on what one to purchase. Likes/dislikes on the features of yours. Thanks
.

We have them built into our trucks at work, I use it for how much time and miles to get where I'm going, But more then once it has taken down roads that just stop (not fun with a 53ft trailer) or it sends me the long way around. Check your route with a map.

When I go riding I avoid highways at all costs.

I carry a map that covers a couple counties (which around here is a big area) to find roads I haven't been on yet.

A Navigon app on my iPhone and the directions it gives over a bluetooth headset in my helmet leave nothing to be desired.

Man up...get a compass and learn how to use it. First thing I taught my daughters, before they ever got behind the wheel. To this day, no matter where we are, if I ask one of them which way east is, they know..Once you have a sence of direction it never leaves, you automatically check where the moon is each night, certain stars, sunrise, sunset, you don't think about it you just do it.

And then get the gps app for your phone just in case of emergencies...

Thought I was on the softail forum for a minute there.....

Where do you put your gas cap while filling the tank???

Those are great suggestions if you can travel in a straight line but most back roads don't travel in a straight line. Or at least they don't around here. You never know where some of those are gonna come out.

As for the gas caps I put them on my seat!!!!

I like cocoanut oil myself, it imparts a nice aroma to the exhaust
