FWIW, I've had batteries test "good" on a load test, but still be bad in the bike.
Given the age of your bike, I'd also go through the entire electrical system and clean EVERY connection and ground. You will be amazed how that will improve starting.
the dealer told me that in the past they've only seen two batteries test good, but not actually work. I'm gonna go clean and re clean all my connections. Will let you know.
OK. well my dealer is closed Sunday and Monday. But, I cleaned the ground. left the charger on for several hours, and the damn thing fired and ran. restarted several times.
I still suspect the battery is no good, but I know know for sure that my starter solenoid is no good. Just above idle I make 13.8V

Did you do Dr. Hess's charging system test?
If I remember right there is a part about verifying if your battery is good or not.
Have to start with a fully charged battery though.
