14.46 means your charging system is doing exactly what it is supposed to.

Given the age of your bike, I'd also go through the entire electrical system and clean EVERY connection and ground. You will be amazed how that will improve starting.

Ditto Uncle G. have had many same and it can send you off in all kinds of wrong directions etc.
Last one was brand new and accepted a charge ok and would keep the lights on forever but fell down like a drunk on Sat. night as soon as a heavy starter draw was introduced.
Dont trust a battery just because its new and " seems " ok.!
Take it back a warrenty it asap.
