MJ, my only input is when you "re-oil" it, don't overdo it. I did the first time and it was breathing like crap and spitting that red oil all over the side of the bike. What a mess. It doesn't take much.

Like the others said, the cleaner kit (which by your last post, you purchased) is the best way to go, no need to buy another no matter how many times you clean it.

You should never need to replace it. If something is wrong with it, call us and more than likely, we'll replace it with a new one. Just have the air filter when you call. It comes with a Million Mile Limited warranty, so no need to waste money buying another if you don't need to.

On the same note, you want it looking pretty bad before you clean it. They work better as they get dirty, maybe around 20,000-30,000 miles. Look for when the dirt is clogging up past the screen like this:

And after you clean it, spray a very light coat on the filter and let it sit to soak in, then touch up any white spots you see. After that you are good to go.

We have a cleaning video here if you are interested

Dang JJ, wish I would've read before I cleaned. Although there was some dirty water that rinsed, it really wasn't that bad. Must be my imagination, but the bike seems like it runs better now?? Why would it be more effective as you describe?

It actually filters better when its a little dirty. 20K is fine between cleanings unless you ride on dirt roads all the time

Then I'm right on schedule for cleaning then. I also oiled mine too much. You only do that once. Thanks James.
