help
Ok were to start I was riding the other day and for a for a few seconds the bike just shut off lights and everything still on but engine just shut off like someone turned the key off. This is what I've done new coil wires trimming sensor voltage regulator rebuilt carb check all wire for bad spots rerapped with kevllar loom rap oh and change all the circuit breakers It still does the same thing any help would be great.85 fxrs 1340 evo

85? not much for electronics there. assuming you have fuel and air (and you said you checked the carb), you only need spark to keep it going. if plugs/wires/coil are new, next *most* likely suspect is the ignition module and/or cam sensor plate in the nosecone.
Have you followed the 3 wires from the nose cone (ign pick up to coil) all the way up to the module? They are prone to chafing on the frame, especially where it nears the battery and module.
And I assume you made sure your battery is good. My 96 FLSTN left me stranded on the side of the road when the ground wire broke from the battery, so you might want to check all your grounds too. Good luck and Ride Safe.

To check stressed wiring properly , do this stretch test.
Cut off the harness covering at the stress area , use two needle nose pliers.
Pinch one end of one wire and pinch the other end as far away as possible .
Stretch the wire to see if it seperates . The ones that seperate are bad , the ones that dont are good .
You will find that although the outer plastic casing looks ok ., the inner conductor wires can be broken completely or 1 or 2 are all that is left etc.
Might want to take a look at the coil. When they start to go they sometimes work and cut in and out. Also might be a weak kill switch, if it stays "dead' long enough you should be able to test it and narrow down the problem by starting at the coil and working back through the circuit.

first thanx for the info. ok batt is new wires checked and double checked timming sensor in nose cone is new ,coil, wires and plugs r new all circuit breakers r new the only part that i'm left with is ignition mod. so guess its next on the list of parts that r new. after that entire electrical sys is new then just cuz all is new i'm going to change wire harness just so all is new and that's how i'm going to fix this demon can't be bad if its all new right.
