My back wheel axel Was not the same distance on both sides, so I did the adjustment. I made a 90*wire to measure from the swing arm hole to the center of the axel to make both sides the same length. Retorqued to 60 lbs.
Now about 2300 RPM I have a new vibration? Anybody know whats going on, or do I put it back where it was? Maybe the belt is out of wack?
Check your belt tension as it probably changed when you adjusted the alignment. Sometimes a little bit to much or to little will make it vibrate at certain rpm.

Thanks Jim, I did check it after I adj the axel. The belt deflected about 3/8 to 1/2 an inch, by the book.
Does it have any relation to mph, or just engine speed? Does the belt or tire have any unusual wear? Bearings okay? Dunno, just throwing ideas out...
I notice it more in 1 &2nd gear pulling off. I just check the belt tension again and with the belt cold and no weight on the bike the belt is mor on the slack side of 3/4 inch deflection. could be I need to tighten. One time I check it it's 1/2 inch and next time it's 3/4 deflection. I check it when its cold.
Belt, tires, bearings are all good.
The belt should be checked in the tightest spot, but most people just check it where it is and that is usually OK. I align my back wheel different than the book says and have not had any trouble. I line it up so the belt is running in the middle of the rear pulley when turning the wheel forward. But I have measured it after doing this and it is usually with in a 1/32". I know others do it this way also.
Thanks Span. I have check the belt cold and gone back thru everything again by the book. Iv checked the belt on the lift and on the grd with same deflection. I also rolled the wheel to it's tightest point before adjustment. Im about to go for a test drive to check out the vibration. Back in a bit.
I went all the way back thru it again. Belt is cold, Lift the bike & turned the wheel to tightest spot & readjusted. Vib Seems to be better. Now wondering if the Top engine mount might be needing adjusted to get everything right. Ill have to pull the tank for that.
