A guy on another site suggested it when I was chasing noises once, turned out to be the fat pushrods banging the tubes, alignment did nothing to help.

Many thanks to yourself & all who commented. Hope this isnt a stupid question but are you talking about a flathead screw with the same o/dia thread as the dia. of the holes in block?

Brass tapered plumbing ferrule - inside sized the same as the lifter bolt. Use three to hold
but two will work if you want it dead nuts aligned. Imho.

I think I used phillips head, 1" maybe, maybe 1 1/4", whatever works.
