Default Tappet guide alignment tool.

Is this "tool" really necessary for alignment? iIt seems a bit expensive here in UK at $40. Looks like a normal screw with a pointed end. Any suggestions for alternatives.

Cone washer on a bolt. All it does is center the block.

I've never used it. Builders I know have never used it. Some swear it's needed or the world will end.

I use them with the oil pump bolts but no need for lifter blocks.

Not necessary at all but they are way cheaper on EBay. I have a set to use on TC oil pumps and they are 90 bucks in NZ 15 inc postage from EBay...go figure.....

I think I just used a flathead screw. It's got the cone head, it does the same thing as the tool, and I think it cost $0.25.
