My last tank was only 30 mpg so I was wondering if the bike was running rich. It runs well but that mileage is too low.
They actually look good to me, electrode is still pretty sharp, but since I don't know how old they are, and since they don't cost that much, might as well replace them.
Perhaps my mpg is due to much of my riding being city, and when I am rolling, I'm rolling pretty fast.
With pure gas you are looking for a light tan color.
With ethanol you are looing for an off white color.
All we can get in FL is 10% ethanol. They are pretty off white. My experience tells me the carb is tuned pretty well from the looks of them, and they both look about the same so that's also good.
The threads were pretty dirty as you can see and they weren't very tight...can't imagine they were too loose but it is odd the threads were so dirty.
Just screwed a new set in. Felt like doing a project today and that's about as cheap as a project gets (besides cleaning).

If its a carbed motor, change plugs after dropping down at least one size on the pilot jet! Then put about 100 miles and take a photo looking down the porcelen.
Look great to me. This is mine with apx 10K and perfect..computered controlled. Runs just like new at 45K. Just got back from all day run. Those rusted ones are from salt spray in a freak ice storm/snow I got caught in going to FL in SC

They look okay to me. But when was the last time they were changed? I know there's a salt issue by the ocean, but the plating looks a bit past it's prime.
