Default BDL enlcosed primary 2 inch belt with lock up clutch.

Anyone know how much the belt can handle? The clutch says 1200 ft lbs but what about the kevlar belt? I have a 127 putting down at least 130 ft lbs. Anyone using one of these know about these belts??? remember this is for a Primary belt not final drive. but thats belt too.

The older 1 3/4" belts would last 12,000 miles for me, and that's not beating on them. Technology notwithstanding, I'd run a 3" (or more,) open primary with that kind of power. ( Nothing is stronger than the double row chain you're taking out of it IMO.)

I have a screamin eagle clutch with my chain drive and after 4000 rpm feals like i am pulling in the clutch. Friend of mine has this kit in a box new for 250 bucks. with the lock up were talking a $800 set up. I guess if I dont like it i can sell it easy enough.

Maybe I can shed a little bit of info on this as I have a 3 inch. The clutch is the lockup clutch which a lot of people use on drag bikes. I don't see a problem for you running that. I don't know exactly how much the belt is rated at but I will say they don't stretch much at all. That setup is used a lot by guys with 124's and 131's on the newer twincam bikes. Most belts are rated up to 150lb. With the clutch being the weak point. i would say as long as you aren't doing hole shots it would be okay. the best source for this kind of info is BDL customer service number. I would definately pick that kit up though

Thanks for the replies. It should be here in a few days. Im still breaking in the motor (only 500 miles) so no hole shots for a while.
