A good waxing?.......Fumes under paint? If the job was done correctly, I don't think I'd be too concerned......

My 97 has nice paint round the caps......

That's only because you use --------. My painter said to use them and Iv seen too many pealing paint around the gashole. My paint job don't need wax, ever...

You gotta protect your gashole!!

Have you considered the 3m clear stuff?

Why no wax the paint?

The painter said the clear he used was tough enough to not use wax for a year or two. Also said to use a gas cap that seals off the fumes from getting to the paint.
Never heard of 3m clear stuff. Don't want nothing getting to my gashole.

Never had an issue with it except with sub-standard paint jobs. The lengths H-D got to in order for gas fumes not to escape it should never be an issue.

Anything you stick onto the paint is going to be a fail, especially in hot climates.

My paint guy gets plenty of paint and clear coat up around that crucial area.
