Aren't those 402's specially reinforced for heavy Harleys? That's what I always thought made them special. Doesn't look like the reinforcement worked well.
HD had tires made by the lowest bidder....... think about it.
I have Avon's on my Dresser, ran them for years, I don't get the mileage that other tires offer but I really like the Avon's in a corner.
Never did like the Dumblops, their on my Slim but I'll use them up and put Avon's on the Slim.

Yes. Night and day difference. I have always run Dunlops on this bike. After seeing that bulge, I decided I wanted something else. After doing a bunch of research it came down to the Metz or Commander II's. A lot of people like the 880's and the 888's are suppose to be better. Here's a video review that talks about the improvements made to the 888 over the 880.
One of my local HD has a March sale on tires that's almost too good to pass up. So I had them work up a quote and they were for the Dunlop 402's. I questioned what other Dunlops were available, and they said just that one......????? My bike is a Heritage. I remember being told to stay away from the 402's, so I walked. I think I also remember being told that if I go with Dunlop, go with anything but the 402's....that's why I'm a bit confused why it was the only one offered? They just pushing overstock inventory? Are the 402's really that bad?

Probably because it says Harley on the side.
Pushing overstock would be my first guess.
Yes they really are that bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't put a 402 on my bike if it was free!!!!!!!!!!
