glass bead is bad news on internal engine parts or anywhere near places where oil runs. I have processed many engine warranty inspections where the vendor found one or two glass beads as the cause. One single bead will stick a ring in the groove and keep it from moving around the piston. Once that happens the ring will seize to the cylinder wall in a very short time.
