After putting on new bars and the freshly painted inner fairing on my 97 FLHT I was getting set for my first ride of the year tomorrow and of course I messed that up. Seems like I tightened the nut (under the ignition ****) a little too much and broke my ignition switch housing at the threads. The manual says tighten it until snug, well I guess snug isn't a helluva lot. So now I need pn 71526-93A I guess and its probably gotta come from the bowels of China and I won't see it for at least a week. It always seems everything I get from my dealer takes a week to get for my bike.
Anyways, my question is, is this a part that's worth looking for used? I've read some stuff online about these going bad so I'm guessing my best bet is to just get a new one. I'm always leery of used electrical parts. What are your guys thoughts?
