ok, got my new (to me) heritage and just don't like the exhaust. to me it just doesn't "look" heritage. so with this in mind i'm trying to figure out exactly what i want to put on. what i would like is true dual exhaust BUT i can't find any for the 91 models. samson is 95 and up, v&h is basically the same. so i've kinda narrowed it down to some long shots, big shots, or the cobra speedster longs. with the exhaust on the bike (no baffles) it runs great, sounds great, but on the highway with the dumps being right by the seat it gets kinda loud. would like to move the dumps farther back, AND i will be adding some saddlebags so i need to keep that in mind.
so any opinions on what exhaust will look good on a "classy" styled heritage (btw hate the stock looking exhaust), will sound good (deep and loud), will clear saddlebags, AND exit out farther back on the bike??
Duals with fish tails! I don't know for sure but anything for a 95 should fit a 91. Someone with better knowledge should jump in here soon. Long shots would look good to.
I put 07 Softail Deluxe pipes on mine. I like the look. Saddlebags are on ez mounts so I just raised them up about an inch. One of hopefully several ideas you get.
Any of the duals will fit, but you'll have to drill and tap your frame on the left side for the mount. I went with the Kerker 2 into 1 fishtail for my 92.
One of the reasons you see a 2-into-1 in my sigpic is because I had a set of Samson TD pipes, with S&S mufflers. The left pipe wouldn't properly clear the top of the primary chaincase, so one reason not to use 95-on TD pipes is that - the chaincase on later models is slightly lower than yours AFAIK. However a 2-into-1 is traditional in Harley terms and with a suitably shaped muffler would look great, with the bonus of giving you superior torque over TDs.

That's what cracks me up about those "It doesn't look like a Harley without dual pipes" comments.
True or cross over duals with fishtails would look great. I think the factory staggered shorty duals with the factory fishtail mufflers or the factory shotgun duals with the same fishtail mufflers (Cow Glide) are two of the best looking factory exhaust Harley ever made.
