TC vs. evo
I warm mine up for a few minutes when it is stone cold been sitting for a few days...if I go some where and been there for a couple of hours...hit the starter and go...never had a problem.
More like 45 seconds where I come from, 60 tops....but then you are a girl and we all know how long they take to get ready
I have been told by more than one H-D mechanic that with the TC, just wait for the oil pressure to come up, and then ride gently (keep rpm's under 3500) for 5 or so miles. On the older engines was told to wait till you feel the rocker box get warm to the touch.
Me, in cold temps, under 40, I go out and start the bike, go back inside, put on my gear and then go out to the bike and ride. In the warmer weather, just go out the bike, start it up, put the gear on and ride.

I'm happy to say, I don't have this issue. The group of guys I ride with respect each other and everyone's rides. We all start up our bikes and let em warm up while we suit up with helmets, vests, leathers and what ever. By the time were ready to ride a few minutes has passed and everyone's ride is warmed up and ready to go.
I've always let any of my bikes warm up on the first start of the day, ironhead, evo or twinkie. Take my time getting all my gear on and then take it easy for the first couple of miles when taking off. Like my base, head and rocker gaskets way to much to abuse them regardless of the engine.
After that, if I'm riding all day, I'll start them up, get ready and go ride. The guys I ride with are a combination of twinkies, evo's, shovels and some metrics, no one rushes anyone.
