Some cleaners are washable, others are replaceable, so it would help if you can identify yours. What colour is the element, for example? If red/pink it is cleanable and the new oil to refresh it is red (K&N).

I clean my washable air filters by first spraying them down with either K&N Filter Cleaner or Castrol Super Clean and letting them sit for around 10 minutes. Then rinse well from the clean side out.

If the filter is still dirty I use a solution of about 8 ounces of Castrol Super Clean and water. I put the filter, dirty side down with just enough solution to keep the filter wet without totally submerging it. Let the filter sit in the solution for about an hour. Pull the filter out and then wash from the clean side out. The filter should now be clean as new.

Allow to dry completely, then oil and re-install.

DO NOT OVER OIL!! Only oil lightly until the element just turns red.
