I don't see that as effecting the starter solenoid much at all. It is just applying full battery voltage to the coil. Any increase in voltage to the starter solenoid (reason for The Dreaded Click) is purely feedback. It is an interesting solution, but is it a problem? Maybe with the big inch motors drawing a lot of current to turn over.
It gave me a quicker start without the usual lull I had experienced since I installed stroker flywheels and used .0012 cylinder to piston starting point. It poped immediately when start button engaged.
Nothing to do with the solenoid, it is the same principal as using a second start relay, headlight relay etc. A direct path for current to reach a component without all the voltage drop due to connectors, corrosion etc.
This is a setup often used on old Japanese bikes with low voltage to the coils.

It is specifically recommended for high compression and stroker motors which I have and it changed the dynamics for me. Just reporting and giving thanks something my grandmother said would make life better.
