Apparently they don't work so well when the summer temps stay over 100 on a regular basis. (one of the springs goes bad)

If your interested I will try and find it.
You may want to contact them if you had a spring go bad in one. They are great about replacing items reasonably and not having you take a beating from them.

Never noticed any problems in mine. One on my 76 shovel and on my 94 dresser. Both stroker motors and they work great in them both.

Did some quick reading on it. Yes I'm interested. PM me. Do you think they'd replace the spring for me or would I have to buy the parts?

I just pull the inspection cover, hold a steel rule up against the outer primary and lift the chain with my finger to measure and adjust if necessary....it ain't difficult....

No one has mentioned finding the tight spot of the chain, I assume you are doing that, before adjusting the chain ???

They sent me about 6 springs to replace the bad one.
Great people to deal with.

Let me see if I can find it.

Actually they were very good about it.
They sent me several replacements.

The only thing about it is that when the spring went it took the primary chain with it.

What do you use for fluid in your primary?

It's best not to overthink this. The adjuster has notches in it, and at any given time there is only one notch that will give a correct adjustment. the next notch on either side will be too tight or too loose, When the chain reaches 3/4 inches of play (the upper limit), one notch will bring it to 1/2 inch (lower limit).

I confess that I don't actually measure the slack anymore, just guess about 3/4 to 7/8 slack and let her rip, measured it enough times to know about what it should feel and look like.

I agree with Uncle G, one notch will look just right, and the next tighter notch will have you wondering if it's too tight.
