$2k = 80/80 (parts)
$5k = 100+/100+ (new S&S 111 motor).

If you have the money you would get far more out of a new motor than a few parts.

Whatever the cost of an engine, I believe you must add at least $2000 to the cost for incidentals and then some.
Are you comfortable with the clutch
Break in oil changes
Other fluids
Clutch cable
Oil lines
Exhaust
Ignition
Short block with no carburetor
Race brace
Transmission up to the task for increased hp
Performance intake air cleaner
Loctite
Nuts and bolts

I am sure I am missing stuff.

For $5k the 111 works with oem clutch, tranny and starter
It comes with an ignition and a carb/intake

Yes I know that they advertise for more but you can get one new for 5k.

Oh! that new engine will turn into a restoration, I know a guy that needed nothing going into the winter and now has a stack of receipts that can mummify a grown man. Don't kid yourself saying a motor is all I need, it is a sickness to man

Got ya covered. The springer is a toboggan....but he's got an evo RG that needs base gaskets...and I already set him up with a w6....Jim's lifters.....pushrods....and am setting up to get that thing pushing 80/80 by the time summer hits.

Actually with our Stage II Heads, Wiseco pistons, Wood 6, at 10.0 cr, 80 and 90 ft/lbs is what those will show........and more.
CV carb, Mikuni, or S&S.
Slip-on mufflers, or a good 2/1.
Shop on Long Island NY tuned one of our clients 80"ers a while ago, Wood 6, Stage II Heads, with a t/jetted S&S E, Crane ignition, and V&H Big Radius...............86 hp, 94 ft/lbs., sae.
Fellow forum member gsxrboy96 has one of our high-output 80"ers with a Wood 8, that was on a dyno over in Missouri............103 hp.
He has said that it eat's 95" T/C's for lunch. hehe.

Also if you buy a new motor you can also sell your factory motor and make some decent cash back.
