Default need evo mod suggestions

Im new to the Harley scene and I have everything tore apart on the bike (95 tour glide ultra classic 1340) for paint and other custom stuff being done but I wanted to go ahead and freshen the motor up since I have that much tore down. I was thinking about doing the big bore kit on it but not sure if I really need it or should bother with it. I just like the sound of the cams and want some but I'm not looking to race just a little added power and a good lope when idling. Im all ears on this and what any suggestions while I have the bike tore down for the first time.

EV 13 is a good cam for baggers.

Exactly how much do you want to spend on your mods?

Unfortunately, that "lopey" sound comes longer duration camshafts, and that really wouldnt be a good choice for a heavy bike. It would move your powerband into a higher rpm range, and make it a slug off the line and in the lower revs. Texas made a good reccomendation with the EV13. An EV23 or EVL-3000 would be good choices as well. None of these are going to be "lopey", but they would give you some extra grunt where you need it.
Like John said, more than a simple cam swap and your opening up a can o worms. A free-flowing exhaust/intake and cam upgrade is about as far I would take it. Really depends on how deep your wallet is, I guess.
If I were considering a serious, reliable power upgrade on a bagger, I would be looking at an S&S before I tweaked a stock evo out. JMO

EVO Performance: Air in, Air out.

Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner or aftermarket
Slip-on mufflers, I'm running Supertrapps with 18 disks installed. You don't have to be loud to make power.
Cam. Either EV27 or EV13 in the Andrews. Woods makes comparable cams too. As do others. Do some research and pick what suits your riding style. I'm running the 27 in my E-glide Sport (FLHS) and I find it an excellent cam for single or two up riding.
Swap out the INA bearing for a Torrington!
Dyna 2000 or other aftermarket ignition.
Tune the CV carb.
Roughly 80 horsepower and 80 lb/ft torque.

Want a bit more? Do some head work, put in a set of 10:1 pistons. That'll put ya into the 90 horsepower 'range'.

Anything more than that, I'd save the cash for an S&S 111.

Hi Walt and welcome from the other side! When Evos were current bikes big bore kits tended to need aftermarket crank cases, simply because there isn't as much meat on them as the twincams have, so that makes for an expensive upgrade. A popular increase in capacity can be done with a stroker crankshaft, which increases capacity to 89" and can be done with your stock rods and rod bearings, plus suitable pistons. That gives a boost in CR as well, which with a change of cam and headwork gives a very worthwhile package.

We have an HDF sponsor in Hillside Cycle, who do Evo tuning packages, which are worth looking into, however as Hackd has indicated, there are whole engines available that can be bolted right in. I have an S&S 107" with 101HP/107TQ, which I find satisfactory! Hillside can boost that into the 120/120 range for a little more.....

Call Scott at Hillside. He did my heads, cylinders, and sold me all the parts to do the top end on my bike. Upped the compression, stage 1 heads, woods 6 cam, S&S pushrods/lifters, Dynatek ignition, and it's a whole new animal now. Should be good to dyno 80hp/80trq which is a little better than a new 103 puts down (65/80). About $2k for all the work and parts. I have a thread on here with the build and pictures.
