I stopped at a Harley dealer and talked to their "Evo specialist." I asked him what I should be seeing in the timing plug hole when the timing is set correctly.

He asked me what year my bike was and when I told him, he said 2 dots at 1100-1500 rpm. That's where she's set now.....Too bad the weather went south.........

TD, if not done already, scribe a mark on the cam sensor plate to reference the stock timing,
now if you want, you can experiment with a little more timing by rotating clockwise a couple degrees, if it doesn't like it, just turn it back to your mark, no need to strobe it again..

So is the nightrider pic just wrong? I need to reread johnj's post. Just for your info when my cam plate went south I just put it to tdc to get it running and then timed it by ear. Noting how it started etc.

I guess I missed you weren't using stock plate. I didn't see it noted. Assume *** out of me???

You think it was right before? I did scribe it BEFORE making ANY adjustments.

I had to move it to get the 2 dots to center.....I'm so freaking confused now.....

TD, you gotta be oh so close to fully dialed in. I think you're really there already. The only thing I could think more to do with your current setup is to pull a cpbedor and get Scarlett to a dyno for a pull or two. A fellow riding buddy swears by them but I have never made the investment personally.
