I stopped at a Harley dealer and talked to their "Evo specialist." I asked him what I should be seeing in the timing plug hole when the timing is set correctly.
He asked me what year my bike was and when I told him, he said 2 dots at 1100-1500 rpm. That's where she's set now.....Too bad the weather went south.........
Well, my apologies to those of you who told me NOT to use the two dots to set the timing. I took her for the first ride since I set the timing...............
Pop! Bang! Pop, Pop bang! And that was less than 1/4 of a mile. Pulled into a parking lot and moved it back to the lines I scribed...... had a nice ride......
Going back to look for a single dot on the flywheel.
I can't friggin believe the factory shop manual was WRONG!
