After all these timing threads I may just have to try it with my dial back light. I bought it at Sears on sale. When my ignition sensor went out I timed it by ear and haven't touched it since. I need to get one of the clear sight pugs though.
In looking at the TT 1005 directions the precision is only necessary if you are running Race curves. Also the multispark must be turned off or it f's with timing light.
The Evo fires on both cylinders each time, the wasted spark. Is that causing your issue? Is there a way to eliminate the wasted spark so you can set the timing?

I kinda doubt it, but, I don't know. She's running well, and the timing is set right where it was before the mods.
I guarantee I'll figure it out...... And I'll be riding it in the meantime.
1. I'm too lazy to try to fix it myself kind of guy.
2. Don't have the guts or mental capacity to try.
But thanks for words of encouragement.
There is a difference between making jokes about your stubbornness(me) and acting like a jerk(you). I have tried to help you on a couple of occasions buddy.
I'll give you a hint about me since you obviously don't know me:
First, I don't say things on the internet I wouldn't say to your face. Unlike you, because I have met you and I am certain you wouldn't have the hair to say

Doesn't affect anything as the strobe only picks up the spark impulse in the lead it is clamped to....and everybody else manages to time Evos with a strobe.
If the bike if running OK I would put it down to the strobe/bike combo, your car chucks out a lot more volty/ampy things down the plug leads than your bike does.

Simmer down you two.....TD didn't start this little spat but if it continues I am sure the mods will finish it....let's all just share the love
