The BT1006 is for '94/'95. I'm guessing that you need a conversion kit to adapt the wiring harness connectors on the BT1006 to your '92.

I'm guessing these new radios have a built in safety system that prevents power to the unit if you're using an oversize fuse.
Just for the record: It don't work that way.

Sucks scoche has released a 96-up adapter for handle bar controls for 39.00, I guess us Evo 95-down guys are stuck paying 200 for a stupid wiring harness? Sticking with hd radio and my old cassette adapter to phone till they come down

Realistically, I can't see them coming down. What's the market for people needing these for pre '96 bikes? Not too great I'd imagine. That said, I can't see letting $200 keep you from being able to reap the benefits of a modern stereo system. I just put in a Sony w/ the Biketronics kit and it is great!

I had any 89. I installed a sony radio from best buy cut out the old harness. Just used the stock diagram and the radio. Yea I lost use of controls but it's not that big of a deal breaker. It's close enough to reach and and I use the preset station or had a small flash drive in for mp3.

I'm glad to know there is a solution like this for older baggers. I've been eyeing a 92. Stored for future reference.
btw I'd imagine TD spends more than $200 per year on just Seafoam.

Yes, but you have to update your factory connectors. HD changed to Deutsche connectors in 94. Biketronics only has the retro radio kit for 94/95 and 96 and up. I just went through this on my 93. Not difficult, but tedious. Works like a charm, new bluetooth pioneer headunit, marine amp and hogtunes speakers.
