When I was an aircraft mechanic many years ago we refurbished recip and redial engines. We always painted the cases. That paint would last darn near forever. I suspect that an aircraft engine paint would work great. The only problem might be that it doesn't seem to come in many colors: Continental Gold, Lycoming Grey, Pratt and Whitney Grey, Wright Silver, blue, red, and surely there's a black.

When I bought my bike the engine was a factory refurb. But, everything else had 88,000 miles on it. There was some black paint missing in some areas on the transmission and inside of the primary drive inner cover. Being a redneck, I grabbed a can of flat black and a small brush and "touched it up". Now to look at it it's pretty impossible to find where I touched it up and where it was OK before. I'm not recomending this, just brain puking. I really like the HD wrinkle paint.

If your wanting to keep the fresh blasted look I've had great success spraying my blasted aluminum with WD-40 every couple months. Even living on the gulf coast I've never encountered any corrosion build up. I just coat it like spraying paint , and blow it dry with my air compressor. I looked for several different clear coats and so on when I rebuilt my engine this time , but they're were too many negative reviews about yellowing.

I wish I would've found the paint D gyver used before I assembled it.
