Roller bearings will take untold abuse, as long as there is something slippery in the vicinity they are fine....stuff in the tappet screen is not a sign of Armageddon necessarily...the screen is there because bits do find their way around an Evo motor. I don't think its a bad as you think.

This bike will make me go gray in my early 20's LOL. Going to drain the oil tomorrow and find out what caused it... Bad petcock, of stuck float.

TJ, we will speak tomorrow about this.

Good luck TMan. I thought the vacuum petcock was a standard first remove item on these bikes.

Damn, tman. Can't catch a break, huh?

Try to stay positive, like has been said, it's probably not as bad as you are thinking.

Tore the carb down... Cant see how it could have happened. Float needed some minor adjustment, but not to where it could cause that to happen. The needle was a little galled where the shim washers would go, so I cleaned that up. The needle is soft aluminum and the shims were steel, so I'm thinking that may have been the issue? I tested the petcock and it was working. Unhooked the fuel line and left the petcock on for an hour and got no fuel out of it. I'm stumped...

Was it running too rich?enrichener piston worn or out of adjustment?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you could get that much gas in the oil and the bike is, as you said, running okay?!?

Maybe it's not that much gas, but it made the oil level rise.

As far as running too rich, no... But the enrichener could be toast, but then again, this happened overnight... The petcock is my only guess?
