Easy tuning and max performance for my 80" EVO chopper. The 295/70 works great on the lighter bike. Clocked mileage on a 160 mi round trip (Never did big mile days) got 45 mpg @65-70 cruising speed.
Are you guys talking mpg after carb mod? Just wanted to be clear. I'm usually right around 38mpg, but occasionally 33-35mpg on my stock Heritage. I thought that was about right, no?

I do have a built 80" and a new S&S E. The only mod to the carb was a yost power tube. Great performance and 48 Mpg.
JohnnyC, with the new carb and top end overhaul, the 'ole glide should be runnin' sweet, don't remember if you dropped a cam in, enjoy!
Put the EV27 in at around 42K with the stock lifter replacement (preventive measure, not a break down).
Today's a big deal for me. The sun is shining and there's a plan to take a good long ride.
It's actually like having a new(er) bike with it running so well (right) now. I kinda feel like a kid with a new toy. Even had a hard time falling asleep while thinking about riding my bike with it running so well!!!! LOL
I looked at the Yost Power Tube and read up on it. Simple to install. And to be able to access the main jet without disassembling is an advantage.
Seems the cost is a little over $40. If the gas mileage and efficiency is that good it'll pay for itself in a week or two.
It was shipped with a 295 / 70 and now that I've road tested it I understand why so many kept on me to upgrade. Performed really, really well right out of the box.
Only have put 30 miles on it but what a boost to performance and finally running the way I thought it should!
What's up with the loud intake vacuum noise on this setup? Reminded me of when we used to flip the air filter cover on the chevy 350s. Guess a bit louder pipes might drown out that different sound ... lol
where did you get the carb from? i have an 85 and have been thinking about an S&S for a long time. what's the part # for the carb kit?
You can get it for an even lower price shipped from another country. Weird to order through Japan for a USA made carb. Probably have to wait for a month for it to arrive.
Johnny, I can't believe that you found some "dry time" to ride in the past few days around here. It's been raining steadily. As for mileage, I regularly get/got ( does a lot of sitting now ) 46 mpg on my 1992 EVO. Now the 2009 is more around the 41 mpg. Enjoy the new mods and stay dry
Larry, get out there today! Sunday looks like rainy season again by mid day, until Wednesday, then we get 3 days ...maybe. I was glad I hit the road early yesterday morning, by mid day it was rain everywhere.
