Why a Evo, personally like to steer away from the majority crowd and when entering a crowd I want to be different. Enjoy the challenge of improving a older bike into being superior over a new bike, convinced I achieved this but at what price, it doesn't matter.

Evo engines respond well to mods, basic technology that is solid, battle tested and firing up a Evo in a sea of TC's is just refreshing to what I stand for. Listen to pack of TC's idle in traffic, you are looking for the rest of the helecopter, listen to a pack of Shovels and Evo's it pours Harley soul into the air. Don't get me wrong, ride with Pan's, Shovel's, Evo's, TC's may make fun of the rider on the bike but refrain from looking down on the bike unless it is a Goldwing and then can usually spot the rider holding a ice cream cone.

Stereotyping Evo owners and carbs into the "lost in the dinosaur age" is far from the truth, I make my living running a large truck repair dealership that everyday repairs include technology, highly evolved diagnostic reader systems, multiple data link and CAN complex computer systems so a modern Twinkie doesn't scare me, just prefer to stay within my view of the last Harley engine that represents the legend and that is a Evo.
Great post, I agree.

Why evo? Because twin cams are gay, and they sound gay. If I wanted a motorcycle that sounded like a jap vtwin, I'd just go back to riding a jap v-twin.
