the only reason not to is if your pipes are in the way of reaching the solenoid cover.

Thanks for all the good input, much appreciated. I would like to keep the handlebar button working and install the solenoid button for emergency's. Doesn't sound to hard to do.

All good advice ... try spraying contact cleaner . wd40 or your choice into all your bar switches .
Disconnect the bat. and spray away until all that pours out is clear , let sit for a day or air blast if you have a compressor.

Thanks Machinehed, funny you mention WD40 & compressor today.
My lawnmower was coughing and flooding today so I dropped the float bowl and blasted everything with WD then hit it with compressed air. Put it back together and ran like a champ....

Sorry, WD-40 is bad for switches/electronics, plastic, things with small parts such as might be found in switches...

and not all contact cleaner is ok for plastics either, be careful and test first if you go that route..

just pull the control apart & clean the tab in there , it's just thin metal sand it real easy , then get the push button for a piece of mind

That article is BS.

WD won`t hurt a thing in those switches.
