One of the automotive sites I frequent has a single sticky on each page, which opens up a "Book of Knowledge". It prevents the issue of cluttering up most of the page with stickies.
But this forum hasn`t let the stickies breed like mice like some forums.

Yeah, that`s why we never see "What oil is best, what cam is best and starter problem" posts anymore....

I like the stickies but I think the informational ones should be edited for content and only show the pertinent information for the subject for each sticky.
