That's just good practice. I'd never assume the float height was correct from the factory.

True, they can get tossed around during shipping, plus everybody has a bad day every now and then !!!

Works for me ,beginning of season float sticks,
shut off petcock,let engine run out of fuel and turn petcock back on and startup.
