every one forgot the pinion gear. if its the wrong one you will have to change it. Andrews uses the red gear set if your stock cam is not red you will need a new pinion gear.

That is why I told him to swap cam gears back in post #2.
That way you don't have to mess with the pinion gear.

This may be a strange question but how do I get the old cam gear off and swap them . Doesn't it have to go on a certain to keep the timing dot functional

Hi there,

Changed my cam out for the EV27 just last month! Have to say, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to do the work and save hundreds of dollars by NOT sending it to your dealer.

Your list is about complete.
Don't forget Oil, Oilfilter.
Keep in mind that the cam might need shims.

Just as impotand is to get the tools needed for the job.
Torque wrench, etc etc...

You could go for assembly lube, but a pint of oil will do the trick just as good.
In all, it took me about 4-5 hours.

Have fun and take your time ;-)

You can check your local dealer to see if they can do it or a good local indy or a real good machine shop.

Oh, and if you chose to keep the stock timercover, you'll need two rivets.
They are riveted to the nosecone in a 6 and 12 o'clock position.
