Do you have stock mufflers? Aftermarket ones could be a reason for decel popps. Such decel popping was on mine '96 FI Ultra due to W&Hines open mufflers (now I swap to carb). Don't think chewed intake seals rise decel popp - more likely they can do cough through injector
we see that very often - that happens when the one side of the intake is pulled all the way in before the other -
correct install is to work both sides at the same time so to speak and use a lube trans assembly lube white grease and others on the seals , so it slides into the correct location with out catching and being pinched -

I thought the bike was running good before, but I think that it is a little better now. I installed a AEM wide band A/F gauge, and it seems it is running a little lean, 15s and 16s, I change the power commander settings from 2000 to 4000 rpms. I will ride it to work tomorrow to see how it does, I will take my laptop to make changes if needed.
It has very little popping now.
I had the same issue with the CV carb intake. My seals just rotted in about a year or so. Both sides dry and brittle. It caused a situation where the bike wouldn't idle right and surged a lot.
I want one of those air fuel guages. Gotta look that up.

Couple of questions for ya:
Which pipe did you install the sensor , front or rear & how far down from the exhaust port. Thanks in advance.
