and correct me if i'm wrong but a 10.11:1 (1st gear)would have less rpm at 30 mph than an 11.12:1 @ 30 mph. Wouldn't it?
That's true!

No, that would be a lower ratio. In the example here the rpms at a given road speed will be higher with the 11.12:1 ratio, compared with the 10.11:1.

No, the Twistgear ratios are lower. Stock 1st gear of 10.11:1 is taller than 11.12:1.

Default heres a pic

Pic from there TwistGear's site. Look at the shift points chart. This is what the gearset will do for rpm compared to mph. There are more charts & graphs on their site. I think it's a neat alternative , since you already have a 5 speed & can custom tune it with this gearset & changing a pulley or two. Not bashing a 6 speed, I like this concept & will more than likely go this route when & if the time comes. Just another option & cheaper.

Ride safe,
Harold

Yes, of course you are correct. It was my mistake.

I was looking at the set up with a 34/65 rear gearing.

Did it this weekend, I dic**d around long enough for the price to jump 100 bucks but its in and did a short ride and Im digging it so far.
Did a 27t compensator pulley ( turns out my nut was loose anyway knocking sounds) a new longer chain and a new adjuster with a fat shoe. Parts # from baker are above in the thread for the flh.
Went from a 3.15 to 2.9166 final ratio, not bad seeing new FLH run 2.79.
Smooth as silk on the highway now like 2500 at 65, maybe a little low at 25 just cause it seems to be between gears at that speed, cool at 30 above for sure.
1st is a more usable 9.45, comparared to the 10.2 my 130hp just didnt even need to get the bike rolling almost could have always started in 2nd.
Pretty sure i hit close to what a baker OD6 would have got me final at for 400 vs 3800, call me happy camper
Although the extra gear in between would have been nice but ive topped out what the better half will allow me to keep playing with haha

Even with 6 speeds you still look for another gear, did it multiple times on the interstate the other day

Did you notice having to ride the clutch on take off?

No its nice and smooth, takes off like a rocket but can actually use low gear now for tight maneuvering etc
