I just posted this in the general chat area too. Thank you all for your patience on my dumb questions on the fuel management topic. My mechanic/friend Marty at www.thunderbirdmc.com here in Colorado is friends with Keith Hines. They lived by each other in South Dakota. He was talking to hime today about weather or not you really need a fuel management system in the new Harleys with aftermarket pipes. Keith told him to pick out 3 people to test it out on(one is me) to prove they work. Vance and Hines is picking up all the labor costs to install them and giving the pak's to us at base wholesale cost. $180. How cool is that? The tests will begin next week. I'll let you all know soon how it works out!
very very cool. I truely don't want to bust anyone's bubble .... however the fuel pack takes about 20-30min tops to install and to get them for $180 .... well I can pick 'em up brand new on ebay (including shipping) for about $210-215.
I really do like my V&H Fuel pack. Totally changed my bike's feel and performance as you will undoubtedly see.
However the 'deal' that is being gotten from 'labor' and 'wholesale' isn't much in the way of savings (least I don't think).
Will be interested in how you test it out and what results you find with it!
OH .... try and test it on a 07 ultra classic with RineHart TrueDuals and the SE Stage 1 AC. (this is what I have and would love to know the results from stock to the mods I've made... LOLOLOL
Actually the Fuel Pak most places is $225-$250. $30 inutes to install is another $35. Almost $300 the way I look at it. Anyway, sounds like nothing but good feedback on it!! Thanks Iceman I will let you know how it goes!!
