Your dead on with the cool mornings. With another smaller diameter exhaust (slip-on) I don't get any. The V&H slip-ons I have on my Road King are large volume with free flowing baffles and "I believe" that is what is the cause. If I pack the baffles, it is gone - until the packing exits that is... I ran Long Shots on my Dyna and made my own baffles with a similiar setup. Never a pop on de-accel and great sound and performance. With reduced back pressure you have to richen up the pilot in my experience. My next exhaust will not be a dual large volume one for sure. I average right at 46mpg now and I don't think I'll do anything else with the carb. I would like a 6 speed tranny though
