Hey Doc1, thanks for all your advice with my Cam questions. I was just wondering though, wouldn't a race fueler $270 for this set up be adequate since he already has the SE A/C installed already. If it's just slip on mufflers, he doesn't need to remap the curve, and it doesn't sound like he plans to do any major engine or exhaust upgrades, therefore, no need for the PCIII? After the dyno with this set up, wouldn't it save him time and money for the rest? Just wondering, assuming the H-D dealer has a dyno there and they can do a adequate job.
The stage 1 air cleaner and ECM download for the SE slip ons works just fine on my Heritage Classic with the Rush slip ons and 1.75 baffles. You can spend a lot more money for the SERT and to have it dynoed, but I suspect you will like it just fine with the factory download.
I've been watching my spark plugs, and after a few thousand miles with this combination, they look just fine, not too lean, not too rich.\
The bike is a pleasure to ride, lots of acceleration, excellent mileage (41-43 normally) and the Rush sound is hard to beat.
The race fueler will take a fuel injection map which has around 190 areas to tune and makes it in 4 circuits. A C/V carb has three circuits to give you and idea of what I'm talking about. A carb will let the bike run fine but it can not fuel for economy AND power at the same time...it's either power (richer) or economy (leaner) not both. The carb can not fuel target every rpm and throttle position to where fuel injection does target it all and it fuels for power and economy at the same time....the fueler put a group of cells together to form a general area inwhich it delivers fuel.....it's not accurate at all. Now I'm more into perfection and performance so this fueler system is not an option for me personally...it might work good enough for some but as you can see it's not as precise, not even close as theTuner.
