Default Exhaust combo question

Hello,

(2011 RGU)
Previous exhaust included FP true duals, BCT QQ Monster baffles, SE Street Cannons.

I just installed the S&S Power Tune duals. Got rid of the FP true dauls.

Becuase the SE Street Cannons are a straight-through design, I had to run the BCT baffles to maintain torque and kill the reversion and decel pop.

With the same issues in mind, I put the BCT baffles in with the Power Tune duals and the Street Cannons. The overall vibration of the bike has changed. Torque is better with the Power Tunes. Gas mileage is coming out a little better. Thundermax says the tune is looking good.

My question is to anyone else running this combination: Do you get a more noticeable vibration running the Power Tunes versus true duals or the stock (decat'd) header? Sorry I don't have a better way to explain it. I just felt smoother when the true duals were on it. Overall I don't see how this combination is any different from running Power Tunes with mufflers that come with baffle, such as Rinehardts or BUBs.

As before, the power seems to run out after 3300-3500 RPM. Its always felt like that regardless of my exhaust combination. Cams will be my next big expense.

Thanks

The short answer is that the Power Tunes could easily make more vibes over true duals.. Some of the issue is that when you tie the front and rear cylinder exhaust headers togther at the tranny, it will vibrate more.. True duals allow a little more flexing of the exhaust system then the H pipe of the Power tunes and the X pipe of the VnH, FM etc..

I've run the Khromewerks version on an 02 FLHRCI and 07 FLHTC.. Its a good performing pipe.. It won't make the peak HP of an X pipe but it will give a nice power band.. It may vibrate a but then I own bikes that vibrate worse.

Not sure why you are not getting it running well in upper Rs.. One thing is that they can handle higher flowing mufflers without loss of low end... You might want to switch back to the higher flowing baffles.. The good thing is that H and X type pipes share mufflers so the noise output drops considerably.
