Thermal Pipe Lining
I was a little ticked at myself, figuring maybe I should have heat cycled it a few times before doing the dyno. I've ridden it for the past year, and every time I look at the bike from that side, I see that discoloration and it irritates the hell out of me... not because I thought it was my fault, but because it looks like crap.
I called V&H yesterday to find out how much it was going to cost me to replace the part (gulp, not cheap). I told the guy why I wanted to do the repacement. He said they had a tendancy to do that and that I should put a thermal lining on the inside of the pipe (the new one). He said to use this stuff http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup...c-606237493134
I didn't get into it with this guy about why V&H doesn't just do this from the get go, he's just a sales guy on the other end of the phone.
Anyway, couple questions...
1. has anyone used this stuff before, and have your results be satisfactory?
2. Do you think it is worth taking this higher up the chain at V&H? Seems to me that an exhaust that lists for over $500 shouldn't have a "known" issue like this, with a "known" solution. What do you all think?
Thanks
I bought both of those customers a new collector....!
