I'm thinking about a Supertrapp Supermeg for my FXR. Supertrapp makes a FXR specific 2:1 pipe in stainless, but they don't offer heat shields. I know I can get those generic straight pieces, but I like the look of full shields better. I was thinking that maybe their dyna supermeg pipe's shields may fit, but chrome shields on a stainless pipe won't look great.
So the question: Does anyone know if heat shields can be custom fabricated? If the supermeg shields match up, I could find a set as a template I suppose, or I could provide the head pipe also.
Gee, I never would have though of that... Lol, just kidding. Yes, I asked them while on the phone discussing the FXR pipe. They have no shields available, nor any way to fab any. I was surprised, but that's the answer. Thanks though.
After thinking about it, it started to make a little sense.. They have tooling for their production line, but probably have little custom production capabilities. Oh well.
Still looking. Unfortunately I won't go with them unless I find a shield solution.
