Not really. I run a family owned motorcycle shop and am around all brands and types of exhaust daily. In my experience V&H quality over the last handful+ of years has fallen through the floor, and I am not alone in this dept. I understand everything is not perfect every time, but I will tell you if I am going to have an issue with an exhaust system, more likely than not, it is a V&H product. I damn near never have issues with Bassani or D&D (and many other brands for that matter.) From bad welds, to thin metal, to poor chrome/ceramic coating and bad fitment, V&H has the most issues and that race isn't even close. From a customer service standpoint, they are behind most other exhaust manufacturers as well. About a year ago I purchased a V&H Pro Pipe for a customer and out of the box one of the black heat shields had a defect in the ceramic coating leaving a bare spot a little over an inch long. I called V&H to get a replacement and was told it was going to be a 6-8 week wait to build me one. I asked if they had any of that particular pipe in stock and was told they had over 100 units available; when I asked if they could pull the heat shield I needed from one of those units and send it to me to fix the issue asap they said they could not, we just had to wait. I do not feel my request was unreasonable and have had other companies do similar stuff to make things right. I bought another complete system and robbed the heat shield to put on my customers bike immediately as it was not right to make him wait after spending over $1500 on V&H stuff (he also bought a VP3 tuner). I completely understand that I am more **** than most but I would not like seeing this big blemish on my brand new exhaust system that I forked over my hard earned money for, for 2 months until it could be made right (it actually took almost 10 weeks to get the replacement heat shield). It was a bad look for V&H as well as my business. That being said, I do not feel my statement was bold at all, it comes from lots of years dealing with stuff like this and from what I see on a day-to-day basis so I'll say it again; there are much much better choices when it comes to exhaust, Bassani happens to be one of them.
Supertrapp does make a very good pipe especially when it comes to performance (I own 2 and are tunable) and the quality is ok but not as good as D&D. Their quality pipes hold up a long time.. I bought a used set of D&D pipes that came off of a 2004 iron horse (at the time D&D made them specially for Iron Horse) and the chrome is still amazing.. loud? Yes and works better than a horn...

This thread got hijacked from the OP, but I completely agree with you that D&D quality is top notch, and I don't just say that because they are in my backyard. D&D would have been my choice for the question asked of me had volume not been the chief concern, that is why I mentioned Supertrapp. Are you currently running the D&D on your EVO build?

Sorry OP....
YES... IT'S LOUD AS HELL AND LOOKS GREAT....... It was made for a wide tire Iron Horse so it sticks out a little... But I love it... The worst thing is no one will ride on right....
