I PUT A SET OF VANCE AND HINES SLIPON ON MY 2007 ELECTRIC GLIDE CLASSIC CAN I TAKE BAFFLES OUT AND IF I DO WILL I HURT ANYTHING OR DO I NEED TO DO SOMETHING ELSE DOWNLOAD OR ANYTHING PLEASE HELP
Not sure about the slip on's but just put quiet baffles in my big shot staggereds and really hate the quietness. Funny thing is I actually LOST HP and TQ. Kinda scratching my head on that one. I was under the impression I would actually gain some HP, TQ and performance. Once again I'm standing on the sidelines in bewilderment. Hrtnrse
Which V&H slip-ons do you have?
There are a few different ones they offer , some are not removable.
I have the Straight Cut Classic slip-ons and the baffles are removable.
When V&H designed the mufflers , they probably were looking for a combination of flow an noise.
Most of the V&H mufflers flow very well (less back pressure) , removing the baffles would reduce the pressure and
increase the flow also. Removing the baffles would change the flow to an unknown rate and make tuning difficult.
You would probably have to dyno the bike to find out where it's at for mixture.
There would be "no map" for your setup , and thus would require a custom map to run properly.
The bike would probably run worse anyway.
Just some food for thought.
