Is it safe to run my 2013 Custom with Vance & Hines Big Shot slip-on mufflers without baffles? I am running a set of xied's and a stock breather. I had someone say it would damage my valves. Besides loss of back pressure and torque is it ok? Any input is appreciated.
There are tons of people running with no baffles. It will not harm your bike. Most people do not like it due to the loss of torque.
What some do, is remove the baffles and put in Thunder Torque Inserts. They still preserve the sound quality that you get by removing the baffles, but also give you back your lost torque and then some.
For your case I would recommend the 118 W seen at this LINK.
