Default need advice on engine build and tools

I'm fairly experianced with car engine builds, but I'm new to HD's. I have a 2004 FLHRS with the Twin Cam 88. I need more power! I was thinking that since evos, pan, knucks, ect made good power with 80" or so, why do I need a big bore kit? I figure I could do some head work, mill the heads for a higher compression, install some cams, remap the EFI and be good to go. Am I wrong? Also, what speciatly tools would I need, I'm a do it yourself kinda guy. I would send the heads to a shop, but can I do cams, changing to gear drive, myself? If I did bore the cylinders, would they need to be re-sleeved? Thanks

Default RE: need advice on engine build and tools

If you are going to the trouble to take the heads off, you are only 300 bucks away from 95".........$129 for a SE flat top piston kit, $125 or so for boring, and the rest for a few orings/gaskets. Why not just go to 95"?
