Red face Vance & Hines 4" Slash Down Mufflers Help

I bought a new set of V&H 4" Chrome Slash down mufflers and the two quiet baffles. My problem is how to remove the installed baffle? The instructions says to remove the two Allen head screws and remove inner baffle. It sure doesn't say how! They just don't fall out. I have to pull the inner baffle out about 6 inches or so so I can install the Quiet Baffle. I looked through many post and the University of YouTube and saw many different ways but most were pretty violent! I suppose I need some kind of slide hammer with a hook on the end. Has anyone successfully done this? Any ideas?

Thanks

Kruzen

Yup , made my own slide hammer , but if the slip ons are off the bike you may be able to get then out by using a peace of pipe from the inlet side . Since they're new they shouldn't be to hard to remove , maybe spray a little penetrating oil around the rear of the baffle to help it along .

That is an excellent idea! I wished I thought of that before I installed them! I ordered a 12" spring puller from Amazon. It is a metal rod with a "T" handle and a pointed hook on the other end. Hopefully that will work. If not, I can take them back off and try what you suggested.

Thanks you for the suggestion!

Small tip , when you use the puller , it is best if you rotate it around the inside of the baffle while you use it . This will help the baffle come out evenly and won't jamb itself coming out . If that makes any sense ..

Hope it works out for you , pics when done !
