Jim, the issue was when the first TC's came out (1999) and part way into the 2000 production year, they had used ball bearings for both cams in the cam plate. It was realized latter that because of the TC chain drive design, that there was more load on the rear cam then the ball bearing could handle. They switched the rear cam bearing at the cam plate to a roller bearing so it could take the increased load and were covering that item under warrenty. Even though they never did a recall which really should have been done, they knew it was not right and extended the coverage on that bearing to 50k miles.
