So I received and put a V&H Pro Pipe on my 11 FLHTC. Love the look (replacing stock head pipe and V&H oversized slip on). Only question is the new Pro Pipe muffler seems to move a little. I could not get the torca fitting all the way under the y shaped heat shield. Is there a trick to it.
The muffler is installed all the way to the head pipe but I’m having trouble getting the torca under the heat shield like the diagram. I’m going to pull the muffler and collector heat shield tomorrow and start the process again to get it under the collector heat shield. Hopefully that will sure the muffler up.
I just looked at the instructions and it looks kinda fiddly in there with a bunch of pieces all having to be in the right place at the right time.
Gonna take some patience to figure it out and get everything to fall together.
I'll admit , it's not an easy install , I had the same issue when installing mine . I left the heat shield off until I got the clamp and exhaust lined up , then put the heat shield over it and tightened everything up .
You could wipe thin coat of anti seize on the end of the " Y " pipe , so the exhaust can slip over the pipe , making it easier to adjust before putting the heat shields on . Everything has to be lined up just right before tightening .
I can post some pics for you if that would help .
It's definitely a really tight fit , just patience is needed , you'll get it . Keep us posted .
Lol , Yah , sounds exactly like me . When my wife is around , she's always telling me to take a break , breath deep , oh , and have a glass of water . She's a yoga instructor , all about finding the peace within yourself .
Got it! I left the y shaped heat shield (collector) off. I’m going to get #28 clamps to ease starting them. The supplied #24 are tight and I don’t feel like fighting them myself.
Thanks to all for the help. Have a Happy New Year.
