I have a 07 ultra and I put rineharts slip ons on it when I first bought it back in feb. I have about 4000 miles on it now and 4 tips later. the right tip keeps turning orange copper color but the other side is black. its been in the shop and they cant figure it out. they even put a fuel pak on it and said it take care of it but it didnt. Is there aproblem with the bike or is it therhineharts? Does anyone know what to do about this?
There are some threads around here about the discoloration. It's not the bike, it's the finish on the tip itself.
If their warranty department has cut you off, you've basically got four choices:
[ol][*]Keep buying the black tips.[*]Switch the discolored tip with the black one and ride till they match.[*]Pony up for the chrome tips.[*]Sell the pipes and buy something else.
