I have an 04 FXDWG that is carbureted, and has vance and hines big radius exhaust. I have noticed recently that the tip of one pipe is much darker than the tip of the other pipe. I pulled the plugs and the plugs also show this however, the plug from the light tipped cylinder is darker than the tip from the light colored cylinder. Why is this? Could the intake manifold gasket be leaking? Any help would be appreciated.

Spray some carb cleaner or WD40 on the intake manifold while the engine is running. If the engine wants to die then yes you have a leak. If not your intake manifold is ok.

The bike runs great. So I'm sure I will get some "if it ain't broke dont fix it" comments but i just like things as close to perfect as possible. And I would at least like to understand why one cylinder is appearing to run richer than the other.
